The technology behind Prolifiq

Prolifiq is an enterprise-ready, SaaS (Software as a Service) application that was built from the ground up to support a large number of users sending personalized, 1:1 messages.

Under the hood

The Prolifiq Messaging Engine sits at the core of the platform. It does the heavy lifting of recommending content, as well as building, sending, and tracking messages.

Like a hub-and-spoke system, the Messaging Engine is connected by a Web service-based API (application programming interface) to different end-user facing applications, such as the browser, mobile and CRM interfaces. The API also allows for integration with internal business applications, such as business-intelligence and content-management systems, to drive messaging and content. Finally, the API can be used to enable supplemental workflows, such as compliance, print-on-demand, and mobile data collection.

As IT folks often tell us, this is serious software – a nice blend of “out-of-the-box” functionality and future flexibility. It makes heroes out of creative marketers, sales operations and IT professionals.

Prolifiq addresses key gaps in other enterprise applications, including:

Email marketing software

Designed for one-to-many, or “blast” communications, these applications are not meant for sales users but instead are run by expert users in the marketing department. Nor do these applications connect with existing content libraries. As a result, email marketing software simply doesn’t support sellers who want to send current content in personal messages to cultivate true 1:1 sales relationships.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

Reporting, data-collection and contact-management needs are the greatest priority with most CRM applications. Very little emphasis is placed on easy-to-use functions that help the seller communicate effectively with their customers.

Regular email

Personal email is great for writing to friends, but is less than ideal for sales communications. The many shortcomings include the lack of ready access to content (i.e., “it’s on shared server”), limited to no tracking abilities, difficulties sending and receiving attachments and little-to-no ability to convey corporate branding.

Content management systems

These systems often leave content “all dressed up, with no place to go.” Sales users despise having to navigate through the library to find what they need, only to discover that they have to download and attach the content in order to get it to a customer. As a result, marketing gets frustrated because their content doesn’t get used as intended.
